About
Anke Hannemann (*1980 GDR) is a mixed media artist and lecturer. She studied English Literature and Art History at Technical University Dresden,
Fine Arts at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, Sound and Performance Art at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and was trained in the restoration
of mural paintings and leaf gilding. Her artistic interest focuses on the linkage between memory, architecture and identity.
She works at the Leipzig department for cultural affairs coordinating the developments around the city’s projects for a forum for freedom and civil rights as well as for the
monument to freedom and unity. She has taught in the international MFA-program "Public Art and New Artistic Strategies" at
Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (2011-2019) and guest lectured at Oxford Brooks University (UK) and at Khulna University (Bangladesh).
